The Ely and Caerau Children’s Centre (ECCC) is Cardiff’s only Integrated Children's Centre, and has been open and operational for families since June 2005. The ECCC was built with the aim of improving health, education, the emotional development of young children, and families through an integrated approach. The Centre serves those living in the local communities of Ely and Caerau. Our community group sessions and our Daycare provision are only open to families living in the Ely and Caerau area.
The Centre provides high quality education and care through our Daycare provision, our Nursery education and Meithrin provision, our community work and our new Nursery wrap around provision.
We provide both Flying Start funded places and the Childcare Offer funded places.
The Centre is open from 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year. The Centre also opens for groups on a Saturday.
We offer an inclusive whole child, trauma-informed and family-supported approach to care and education. We work very closely with our partners in health, early help and inclusion.
The care and education we offer is centred around the '10 Principles of Early Childhood Education and Care' Tina Bruce, Early Childhood Education, 2015 (5th edition), Hodder Education: London
